The primary duties of the Motorcycle Unit are traffic control and parking enforcement, escorts, and special event traffic control.
Additionally, motorcycle officers respond to dispatched patrol calls as backup.
Because of their mobility, motorcycle officers are frequently the first units to respond to bank alarms,
robberies, Escorts, parades, and traffic and crowd control associated with special
events are areas that motorcycle officers handle with great efficiency.
The Bridgewater Police Department currently operates one Harley Davidson Motorcycle, there are two officers assigned to the unit. One officer is assigned to the day
shift (8am-4pm). The other officer is assigned to the evening shift (4pm-12am).
